Our Mission

Bringing together families in need and volunteers of all faiths, in partnership with community resources to enhance lives by building homes, strengthening neighborhoods and improving our community. We are a not-for-profit, Christian organization dedicated to transforming the lives of low-income, hard working families through the American dream of homeownership.

We are one of approximately 2,100 affiliates of Habitat for Humanity International. Habitat for Humanity is not a government funded program, each affiliate works to serve its specific community through the support of donors and volunteers.

Habitat Orlando’s success can be attributed to concerned and motivated citizens from all walks of life coming together to make a difference in Greater Orlando. We hope you will consider supporting our special mission and make a financial contribution to help us build simple, decent, affordable homes for low income, hard working families in our community.

Donations are vital to our success. Donate Now or Email Us if you'd like to support Habitat Orlando in another way.

Letter from the President/Executive Director

It's been a tumultuous year for both the construction industry and Central Floridians. At Habitat for Humanity Orlando, we are grateful for the community's support, and we are encouraged by everyone who has given of their precious resources to us during these tough economic times. Together, these contributions have helped to build 15 homes for Central Florida families.

Since the groundbreaking of Stag Horn Villas in 2009 we have completed seven buildings and welcomed 35 families into their new townhomes. We are proud to report that all the finished villas have earned the Energy Star rating. While we still have a long road ahead of us, we look forward to the spring of 2013, when construction on all 10 buildings is slated for completion, and Stag Horn Villas will be home to 58 hard-working and deserving families.

As always, we share our success with the community and local businesses, because everything we accomplish is a direct result of their generosity. We thank the City of Orlando and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta that selected us to receive two grants totaling more than $1.47 million. Stag Horn Villas has received more in-kind donations than any previous Habitat Orlando project, with donors making a three-year commitment to contribute goods and services. And though these financial contributions are paramount to our progress, we could not have made such a difference without the 3,370 volunteers who came onsite to help -- a 25% increase from last year.

This year, in addition to laying the foundation for Stag Horn Villas, we have made strides in other areas as well. We completed three single-family homes -- one of which, a six-bedroom, is our largest single-family project.

We thank our supporters for enabling us to fulfill our mission. And with the continued support of our partners and donors, we look forward to another blessed year at Habitat.

Sincerely,

Dee Danmeyer
Executive Director
