We're excited to announce that Alice, pictured here with her three daughters, recently completed her 300 "sweat equity hours" required for each partner family. Alice recently spoke to a group at a monthly HabiTour and realized she wanted to share more about her experience with Habitat Orlando so she wrote and submitted the poem seen below.

Words from Habitat homeowner, Alice Tolliver

"We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed." 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 NIV

I have often asked God why me? I have grown so much spiritually and seen my blessings beyond the trees. Trial and tribulation is a part of life you see, and with that I say why not me? Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. Therefore, we fix our eyes not on what is seen but what is unseen. Habitat for Humanity Orlando has showed me the American Dream, becoming a first time homeowner I am glad I believe in the unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. I have raised three daughters on my own, and God has truly blessed me with my own home. I would like to thank my Father the man above and a very special thanks to Habitat for Humanity Orlando volunteers, donors & staff for all of their true love.
