This committee discusses the progress of the homes under construction and learns skills for the construction of homes. Committee members have the potential to become construction crew leaders on the build site. This committee meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm and works at the various job sites on Wednesdays, Thursdays and/ or Saturdays from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. Family Selection Committee
This committee selects the families who become partners with Habitat-Orlando, through the process of screening the applications, going on home visits to meet the applicants and explain more thoroughly Habitat for Humanity and witness the conditions they live in. The committee member presents the applicant to the committee and assists in the process of accepting or rejecting the applicant. This committee meets the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm. Finance Committee
This committee is responsible for shaping the financial strategy of Habitat Orlando. This committee works in conjunction with Development and Land Acquisition to ensure the best stewardships of donations and strategic expenditures. Committee members have diverse backgrounds in investments, law, banking, accounting, land development and strategic planning, among others. Typical topics include land acquisition, leveraging strategies, investment opportunities and foundations/grants.
